History

When Dr. Thomas Ferreira qualified as a veterinarian in 2010 he always dreamt of owning his own practice. After working for a year in Cape Town at a large 24hr Animal Hospital he decided that the time was right to start his own hospital in his hometown, Bloemfontein. He and his fiancée at the time, Dr. Keri Beviss-Challinor bought an old house in Wilgehof Bloemfontein and started the long process of revamping it into the modern veterinary hospital it is today.

Dr. Thomas and Dr. Keri converted the original garage on the property into a flat for themselves. They feel it is better to be close by when animals have to stay overnight in the hospital so that they can check up on critically ill patients, and also makes them more easily available for afterhours emergencies.

Vets@Haldon eventually opened up on 1 December 2012 after almost a year of working on the project. The building now looks very smart and professional with lots of parking space available for clients. Quite a change from what it looked like in 2011!
